1 . Who is currently in the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame and who is in the nomination pool?

The first six inductees for the inaugural Class of 2005 were:
1- Hank Aaron (Baseball)
2- Bobby Cox (Manager, Baseball)
3-Bobby Dodd (Coach, Football)
4-Bobby Jones (Golf)
5-Tommy Nobis (Football)
6-Dominique Wilkins (Basketball)

The second six inductees for the Class of 2006 were:
1- Furman Bisher (Journalist)
2- Bobby Cremins (Coach, Basketball)
3- Evander Holyfield (Boxing)
4- James "Red" Moore (Baseball)
5- Phil Niekro (Baseball)
6- Wyomia Tyus (Track)

The third six inductees for the Class of 2007 were:
1-Tommy Barnes (Golf)
2-Gayle Barron (Track)
3-Ernie Johnson (Broadcaster)
4-Dale Murphy (Baseball)
5-Jeff Van Note (Football)
6-"Sweet" Lou Hudson (Basketball)
 

2 . Who picks the inductees?

There is a three tier process to select the inductees.

The first step is done by the Selections and Nominations Committee. It will be done in December .

The second step is done by the Advisory Committee. It will be done in January .

The final vote is done by a group of Atlanta business and sports leaders referred to as the "Honors Court". In 2006 the Honors Court was represented by: Ga Tech, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, Ga State University, Ga State Golf Association, the AJC, Hawks, CSS Sports Nite, "790- The Zone" Atlanta Sports Talk Radio, and Points North Magazine. The Honors Court will do the final vote in February.
 

3 . How is the Hall of Fame funded?

The Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization. It is NOT funded by any state, county, or city funds. It is funded 100% by donations by individuals and corporations.

The Atlanta Sports Hall Of Fame is incorporated as a
non-profit organization in the State Of Georgia.
The Atlanta Sports Hall Of Fame has a
501 (C) 3 status with the IRS.
