The Atlanta Sports Hall Of Fame “Call for Nominations” for its 2006 Class

ATLANTA, GEORGIA October 5, 2005 -- The Atlanta Sports Hall Of Fame Board of Directors is now accepting nominations for induction into its second class. Nominations must be completed in writing and all supporting documentation must be received by November 30, 2005, to be considered for the 2006 class.

Nomination information, guidelines, eligibility requirements, and the forms for nominations for the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame can be downloaded from its website at: www.atlantasportshalloffame.com.

The Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame will hold its final vote for the class of 2006 in February 2006, and then hold its second Annual Induction Ceremony in June 2006. The Induction Ceremony, which is open to the public, will include a cocktail reception, silent auction, raffle, and dinner, concluding with the induction of six people. Proceeds from the Induction Ceremony, will benefit Hall of Fame activities such as education programs, scholarships, internships and youth sports programs.
 

The Class of 2006 will join the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame’s 2005 inaugural class of Hank Aaron, Bobby Cox, Bobby Dodd, Bobby Jones, Tommy Nobis, and Dominique Wilkins.

The Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame Foundation is a Georgia non-profit corporation and is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation with the IRS. It is a member of the Atlanta Sports Council and the International Association of Sports Museums and Hall of Fame. It is represented at the Atlanta Touchdown Club, the Atlanta Tipoff Club, the Braves 400 Club, and the Falcon Fanatics Fan Club.
